Existing safety measures

  • Visual check before use of machine and cables

  • Manufacturers instructions to be followed

  • Maintained by competent person as part of routine Quarterly H&S checks

  • Do not point nozzle toward body or towards anyone else

  • Never left unattended

  • Do not use close to electrical equipment or sockets

  • Always use nearest plug socket

  • Cables to be kept away from area being steamed.

  • To be used when there is the least possible pedestrian movement

  • Wet floor signs to be used

  • Floor must be completely dry being removing signs

  • Disconnect and leave to cool before disassembling

  • Only attempt to release pressure valve when empty and safe to do so

  • Use for short periods of time to avoid RSI

  • Ensure it is used in well ventilated areas

PPE required

• • Rubber gloves worn if coming into close contact with nozzle of steam cleaner
