Existing safety measures
Oil in pans is always kept at a safe level for turning on, always above thermostat. Never let empty
Do not overfill pans, and skim regularly during use
Filtered at most twice a day by trained fryers only
Clean oil added through Pan 3 and Pan 5 using the safe method: cool the pan, reduce oil level, add oil, refill pan, turn on only if at a safe level to do so
Oil can also be added to any safely operating Pan by first cutting up a block of oil in to smaller pieces and lowering in to a Pan using a basket
Do not leave unattended for extended periods of time
Thermostats/safe pan settings checked twice daily as part of daily temperature checks
Do not drop items in to the pans from height so to minimise splashes
Avoid water, excess batter and ice from falling in a pan
Replace lids when pans are not in use
Used oil to be disposed of in containers in bin area. Shovelled out when cold. Pan is immediately filled with oil to a safe level before turning back on
Do not leave containers of hot oil anywhere they may get knocked or tripped over
