Existing safety measures
All young employees should be trained in general H&S, safe working practises and manual handling as this may be the first time they have been exposed to these risks
Staff under the age of 16 have to have arranged a work permit from the local authority
Staff under the age of 18, parents/guardians to be informed of the companies risk assessment (this is stated in the handbook)
Employees under 16 should not be allowed to use any dangerous chemicals. Employees over 16 can use these chemicals provided they have received the appropriate training and are supervised

Employees under 16 are not allowed to work in the 'commercial kitchen' part of the shop, i.e., the range area
