Existing safety measures

  • Only used by staff who have been trained

  • Chipper blade change assessment every 4 months, scheduled in calendar

  • Turn off and isolate the Chipper before cleaning

  • Any faults or problems to be reported immediately and defective equipment not to be used

  • Never attempt to put hands inside the machine

  • Automatic cut-off is working (tested as part of routine Quarterly H&S Checks)

  • If taking top part of machine off stand for cleaning, then this is a two person lift
